• Why hygiene?
You might imagine that doing a whitening-treatment, when having a lot of dental calcalus and/or plaque is a waist. There may also exist gum problems.
During an oral hygiene-treatment we do an intensive cleanup for your teeth and gums. This way we can prevent you from having dental problems now or in the future. 1 or 2 times a year an oral hygiene-treatment keeps your teeth fresh and clean and leaves your gums in a healthy condition. An oral hygiene-treatment preserves the results of a whitening-treatment dramatically.
You may want to schedule an appointment with one of our oral hygienists when you experience:
- Dental calcalus and/or plaque
- Painful or bleeding gums
- Bad taste and/or bad breath
After the treatment our oral hygienist will give you instructions for after-care, or you can schedule for a new appointment.
You can also opt-in to receive a reminder by e-mail, when it's time for your next oral hygiene-treatment.
• Does the treatment hurt, are the side-effects?
Theoretically the treatment is painless, however there is always the possibility that your teeth become somewhat sensitive during or after the treatment. No side effects have been reported or experienced.
• What to do during the treatment?
During the treatment we make it as comfortable for you as possible. On our plasma-screens you are able to watch television-programs and movies (e.g. 'Desperate Housewives', 'Sex and the City' and 'Lost'). Besides that, we give you the opportunity to listen to your favorite music on one of our iPods*. You can even compile your own playing list!
• What are the costs for a treatment?
Our oral hygiene-treatment is € 95 (in combination with whitening-treatment just € 79). The treatment is a standard oral hygiene-treatment, therefore 75% of the treatment price may be covered by your insurance. You may want to check this before the treatment. Payment is possible by cash or by PIN.
